The international community, and also the EU and the Spanish Government, are being held in a more discreet background to avoid any friction with Morocco in an area of particular sensitivity. It is a position that favors stability in the area, because what is at stake is the international capacity to maintain a single standard on human rights or lease, however, the temptation of double standards. For now, the latter seems to be the option that is emerging. Morocco is a decisive country in the Maghreb, precisely because it can not act so that our friends and allies must call into question the principles they advocate.
The dispute over the Sahara could be entering a new cycle to be configuring a new leadership with unprecedented demands. Or Rabat or the international community, nor the Polisario should enter it from questionable attitudes.
