Three deputies of the Assembly of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso (PP, @ idiazayuso), José Cepeda (PSOE, @ Cepeda) and Liberty Martinez (IU, @ laliber) have developed a manifesto for freedom, respect and dialogue in the Red, with special reference to the social network Twitter, where users communicate at a maximum of 140 characters. Last week, the number two of the Socialist Party, Elena Valenciano, said he closed his account after the "persecution" that some users have had their children.
Twitter has become a forum for public debate and policy. Citizens and political exchange information and views. Sometimes, however, the anonymity that allows the social network makes attacks on public figures are particularly cruel. "I can teach every ... Malmeten outrage, insult and even threaten," he says by phone Libertad Martinez, Member of United Left (IU) in the Madrid Assembly. His colleague Isabel Diaz Ayuso popular abounds on the idea: "With so much insult comes a time when you think no longer free.'ll Shut up. And that impoverishes much debate."

Diaz and Martinez signed with José Cepeda (PSOE) a document expressing the need to "engage" with the complaint of "bad practices" and creating a political environment where "the best weapon is the word." "Respect has plummeted in recent years," says Cepeda socialist. The disqualification, well established on anonymity, is not limited only to those who disagree ideologically or politically. "Even members of my training I have been insulted by Twitter. This affects both friends and strangers," says Libertad Martinez (IU).
The three regional deputies, who have written a personal note but with knowledge of their formations, opened his Twitter account for years. Cepeda was discharged as a user in 2007, the year when the network was launched at the United States. During this time Twitter has hosted more than 200 million users, five of them in Spain. And in the midst of an economic crisis and a bloody deterioration of the image of the so-called political class, the tone of the criticism of the public faces has been increasing. "In the last year and a half the forms have changed. Had before debate, even anger, but was confined to the workplace. Now comes to harassment, insult," says Diaz, 34 (PP).
Although many politicians have already opened a Twitter account, most uses it as a one-way channel and no interaction. Send messages that give media presence but do not open in it a real communication channel with citizens. The who do receive mentions and increasingly steep comments. This has resulted in many of the most twitterers cale feel that pay for the sins. Jose Cepeda (PSOE) sums it up: "Now many use open up an account and we are turning against. Seems that most have a plus analog.'s Absurd."
