Unemployment is growing more strongly to La Rioja and Navarre
Andalusia and the Canaries are consolidated as communities with higher unemployment

Unemployment hit all communities, but with greater force to Navarre and La Rioja, where he grew almost 20% in the last quarter of last year over the same period in 2010, well above the 12.29% which increased on average in the whole of Spain, according to Labour Force Survey released today by the National Institute of Statistics. Meanwhile, Andalusia remains the community with higher unemployment (31.23%).

In addition to the increases of La Rioja (19.38%) and Navarra (19.06%), unemployment also rose above average in Extremadura (18.94%), Galicia (18.13%), Castilla-La Mancha (16.27%), Madrid (15.01%), Balearic Islands (13.95), Asturias (13.71) and Catalonia (12.91).
In absolute terms, in the fourth quarter of 2011 over the same period last year, unemployment rose 121,100 more people in Andalusia, Catalonia (88 700), Madrid (81 300) and Valencia (65.40).
As for the unemployment rate, the highest was in Andalusia (31.23%), followed by the Canary Islands (30.93%), Extremadura (28.59%). The communities reported lower rates of unemployment were Basque Country, Navarra b 12.61% and, with 13.82%.
