Europe freezes. The polar front from southern Siberia is causing havoc since last Thursday in the central and eastern Europe, where nearly two hundred people have died from the cold wave, which arrived in the Iberian Peninsula in the early hours of Friday. Most of those affected are poor who were found dead in the open. Others died in hospitals or were found in their vehicles. A score of countries will be affected by the cold wave that is going forward with all its harshness towards Western Europe.

In Romania 22 people had died until Thursday due to low temperatures, which have grown to over 30 degrees below zero. The intense cold caused chaos on the roads and the closure of airspace and sea. "I was a prisoner, it was terribly cold that prevented stand. I just froze out of the car, "said Cristian, one of which was blocked on the road between Cluj and Bucharest by the heavy snow fall last weekend and forced the Government to mobilize the army. Over the hours, the snow accumulated on vehicles. Not a trace of snow plow trucks. "I called 112 three times and did not answer, so I called to another emergency facility. I just confirmed that the highway was closed. The worst thing was that nobody knew if they would come to help us realize, "says the driver.
